Default The Daily Show with Jon Stewart: Final Episode

Now THAT'S how you end a show!!!

The first half hour (commercial free) might be my favorite half hour of television i have ever seen. Getting every correspondent back (including Wyatt Cenac, who i did not think would be coming back after his comments a few weeks back)

Then the Goodfellas scene inteoducing the crew.. genius

And finally... the ****in BOSS!

Just a tremendous hour of tv.

Regardless of your political leanings... or your feelings towards Stewart and his show... this was just a great way to end a show.

Im jot sold on Trevor Noah yet though.. we shall see

I loved it. A great ending and I can't wait to see what Trevor does. Like Larry, I don't expect him to be on his A game for a year (Larry is still working on it), but I am curious to see how it will continue. Is the show taking another break or is he starting up next week?

BTW, I loved John Oliver's "What's a commercial?"

Thank you, Jon Stewart, for being an integral part of the American conversation. You will be missed.

You know, I keep hearing so much about this Jon Stewart guy; I think I might tune in tomorrow and finally give him a shot.

Jon Stewart's final episode of The Daily Show notched 3.5 million viewers. It was the show's second highest rated episode ever, behind only a 2008 appearance from then soon-to-be president Barack Obama which garnered 3.6 million viewers. 1.8 million adults 18-49 tuned in, which translates to a 1.4 adults 18-49 rating.

The man is a genius. With him, Letterman and Ferguson gone, there is officially ZERO reason to watch late night tv anymore. It's done.

Letterman was really difficult to let go of because I'd been watching him since the 8th grade. I was basically like Kimmel, but never ended up in show business. But, as much as I miss him and was conditioned to watch his program 5 nights a week, he was 67 and you could tell he felt late night and hosting in general had changed and he didn't want to be a part of that.

Stewart is more difficult to lose because there's simply no one who can replace him. I think Trevor Noah was a bad choice. As good as John Oliver is on HBO, even he might not have been able to fill shoes as big as Stewart's but they should have offered him several dump trucks filled with money to come back and worked a deal with HBO to let him out of his deal. Samantha Bee would have been a better choice. Stewart has built up a lot of power and I don't think anyone is going to be too worried about Trevor Noah's opinion. An intelligent woman would have been more difficult to attack back against as Fox, MSNBC, CNN and all politicians will do when Trevor goes after them.

He's going to have to be good right out of the gate. I keep reading he'll have time. I think he's going to need to hit triples and homeruns during this entire election period, like Stewart did in 2000, or his viewership won't even be big enough for anyone to care what he thinks. Larry Wilmore has not done a good job with the 11:30pm slot and that's with Stewart as his lead-in.

Definitely sucks to lose Stewart on such an important show with no real, established successor to turn to.

Very solid finale...not Letterman good, but almost.

I haven't found him interesting in years. I didn't know he was leaving until he left.

I love this show.

But I didn't think the final episode was all that great.

I barely even giggled at any of the spots by the returning correspondents.

The Goodfellas homage was alright, even though the parody of that scene has already been done to death.

...Springsteen at the end was awesome.
