Default Samsung HLN617W assistance please

Hello all,
I am looking for some assistance with a problem my mother in laws TV is having.
I actually had a local TV service place pick it up last week and they had it for 3 days and could not replicate the issue so we got no help.

Symptoms

The TV will work fine for days.
There is no issue with the picture.
All of a sudden the TV will go into Standby mode. If you let it sit long enough, the pic will come back on and then again may work for days or even a week or 10 days.

I know it is not the bulb because I had 2 new bulbs on hand and the issue occurs with the new bulbs in place.

Could this be a color wheel issue? Will a failing color wheel put the TV in standby mode?

Anyone out there seen this issue or and provide any suggestions it would be much appreciated.

Had a tech come over and look at the TV and based on his diagnosis, it appears it is the color wheel.
The wheel, when running, had a slight buzz to it but he said that some wheels can develop a dead spot and if you hit that spot the tv will not turn on and will also cause the board to cut the pic off.
I will let you know once the wheel has been replaced and if it solves the issue

maybe the "ballist". i've had this problem a couple years ago and they changed the bulb twice until they replaced the ballist and wham -o no problems since....

i really don't see changing the color wheel would do anything if the picture is fine. sounds like they r taking u for a ride.

the color wheel is ur picture without that u have nothing....

naturally, when u get the tv back it will work fine but if it goes out again tell them to change the ballist..
