Default Usual Suspects Discussion (Spoilers)

I think this is one of the top 20 films of all-time, what say the rest of you?

I think it's overrated and a bit slow at times...call me crazy. I probably need to watch it again but I'm not sure if it will help any.

The acting is suberb especially Spacey but we all know that.

I probably wouldn't even place it in my top 100 films of all time, but I still consider Singer's best and an excellent film at that. Even knowing the twist makes for an enjoyable viewing experience time and time again. Singer assembled a phenomenal cast.

I say no, unless you cover the twist at the end, posting that without spoiler tags would well ruin the movie for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

Benicio Del Toro is a professional mumbler, so that's not surprising.

It's alright...doesn't have a high replay value IMO, and that's the biggest factor for me in rating films.

I concur..I don't think it deserves that #21 spot on imdb.

One of the best endings of all time......right up with Sixth Sense. First time I watched it, the people with me were all saying it was Keaton but I still stuck with Verbal.

I don't know what the hell some of you are talking about. No replay value? Wouldn't place it in the top 100? That's ok because you don't need to, over 253,000 people already placed it at number 21 of all-time. I have seen this film over 25 times, and I still enjoy it as much as I did the first. There is no way one viewing gives you everything to be seen. I still have fun watching Verbil's eyes move around the room as he is creating and telling his story to Kujan. That is something you do not notice upon only one viewing.

No, I wouldn't place it in my top 100 because I think there are FAR superior films out there. Sorry you and...253,000 other people disagree with me, but numbers never lie, right?

I'd be safe to say that it should be in the top 100 of everyone'e film list AT-LEAST.

Even more so than American Psycho!

Nothing wrong with that, opinions are opinions Like I said above, I still think it's an excellent film and the ensemble cast was extremely well picked, I just don't think it would be included if I made a top 100 films of all time list....there are so many much older films that would make it in there first before I even started on anything that was released in the last 20-30 years.

Honestly though, a 100 list would really have lots and lots of movies. Usual Suspects is sure to be in there somewhere. Seriously, try to make a list, and you'll probably run out of favorites around mid-way, and will probably tag it along somewhere in there.

I certainly don't think it should be 21 on IMDB, but saying it's not a Top 100 film is really letting it down too far. It's up there for sure.

Now if you can excuse me, I must return some video tapes. They're slightly edited video tapes, but video tapes none-the-less. I've incorporated some great songs from Huey Lewis and the News, along with some massive macabre.

Probably the only movie that I can tolerate Stephen Baldwin's acting.

I thought the story was great. I much prefer Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Both stories are similar in a sense.

But the latter has a higher replay value.
