Default LG 60" Plasma - no love?

I've been reading up on the LG 60 inch plasma (frameless). This thing seems to have a small, but enthusiastic, following. Everything I've read seems to indicate a dependable set w/o burn-in problems with some truly awesome PQs.

At around $3k, this television keeps popping on my radar as a potential choice when I do get ready to pull the trigger.

Anyone have any experiences with these?

Only LG I've ever dealt with didn't look great (no calibration, to be fair) and broke a little after a year (maybe 15, 16 mos).

I stay away now

I have a 50" LG Plasma that I've owned for about a year now. I am completely happy with it. I find the picture to be accurate and real nice.

When the time comes to upgrade I would certainly consider buying another LG. For the size and price of the 60" I would think it's definitely worth looking at. Panasonic and Pioneer seem to be the big players here, but I don't think other TV's should be left out of consideration.

I remember when LG was the NEW big thing (2006). There displays are not of the same quality as others in the 60" range. The price might be attractive, but you get what you pay for(im not saying there bad), & with $3,000 you have a nice window in which many HDTV's will fit.
