Default What happened to the Rainbow Six franchise?

It's been quite a while since Rainbow Six Vegas 2 came out...

No new announcements of a new installment or anything. My feeling is that Ubisoft is probably trying to revamp the franchise and come back big. Call of Duty has proven to be the shooter franchise to beat ever since the first Modern Warfare came out and consistently beat out the almighty Halo 3 for most XBOX Live playtime and units sold I believe. the MW2 came out and TOTALLY cemented COD's position as king of the hill. I think R6 has been lagging behind the shooter competition and it needs to come back in a big way.

I played the crap out of the first Rainbow Six Vegas back in the day and never did buy Vegas 2 as the reviews were on the lower side and apparently it was almost more of an expansion to the first Vegas than a new game.

Either way this is one of the most acclaimed shooter franchises of all-time and I would love to see it come back bigger, better and more bad-ass than ever!

Your thoughts?
