I'm going to college and I don't want to take my big HDTV with me for my blurays. So I'm thinking I want a computer monitor. I have one where I work and I hooked my BD player to it and I was really satisfied with it. It's an HP 1080p monitor. Not sure of the size...maybe around 16"-18". I really like it though. So I'm wondering what are some of the better computer monitors out there? I like this HP monitor, but I was wondering about how some other brands fair in comparison.
Edit: By the way, I now realize that this should have been put in the "Displays" section of the forums. My bad. Feel free to move it if you need to mods. Last edited by Sagacious Koreo; 04-28-2010 at 12:54 AM. |

I am using Asus 19" wide screen and totally satisfied with it. The warranty period is also good in this product. I don't have any idea regarding any other product.

I purchased an ASUS VW246H Glossy Black 24" monitor months ago and have been extremely happy with it.
If you're going to play BDs, look into a video card with HDMI out. The BD standard calls for lowering the PQ and AQ if the whole path isn't HDCP compliant. |

All depends how much you have to spend. Bigger is better but more $ ... I have a Samsung 30" which has HDCP but it's a bit pricey. And most people don't need a screen resolution of 2560 X 1600, but if your into gaming and have a top end video card, you'll be blown away. Of course Blu-ray movies look stunning too.

You don't need HDMI although it is a nice feature. DVI can be HDCP compliant too. I think the BD standard calls for not playing at all if the whole path isn't HDCP compliant, but I could be wrong.
