Default BioShock

http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2009/01/22/...-20-next-week/
Quote:
Anything sounds good at 20 bucks; especially sealed, new PS3 games. So getting BioShock at the magical price of $19.99 should be a no-brainer for those who've yet to grab a copy. Best Buy will feature the underwater adventure at a discounted price of $29.99 starting on Jan. 25 2009 and ending on Jan. 31. That's according to a poster on DVDTalk who has next week's Best Buy circular. On top of that, Slickdeals reminds us to make good use of that $10 coupon off any 2K game, which drops the price down further to that desirable $20.
http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/08/07/...e-ps3-trailer/
Quote:
In spite of previous reports that BioShock looks "no different" on PS3 than Xbox 360, IGN is claiming otherwise. They note that the water effects look better, and the texture work has been cleaned up. "It's quite obvious that 2K is taking full advantage of the PS3's Blu-ray discs to pack in cleaner high resolution textures for every facet of the game."

The new Survivor difficulty mode is wildly praised by the site; they go into much detail about how "every bullet counts" in this PS3-exclusive mode. From the sounds of it, it will be a nightmarish journey for those that want to pick up the game's Platinum Trophy.

Of course, you can judge for yourself. Check out this new trailer and see if this version of BioShock tickles your fancy.
man i can't wait to replay this

I might just have to get this game after all the awesome things I've heard about the game.

EDIT: And the fact that it looks better on PS3 is another reason to get it.

I was unsure if I was going to buy the game but seeing how obsessed I am right now getting all the trophies in uncharted, I'll probably do the same for bioshock

Once again, BD has made an already great game even better. It did it with Rage, now BioShock. And we'll probably be still hearing from those Xbots saying, "Oh, BD is pointless, DVD's are just fine". I wish they grew up.

very exciting news. im happy its not just a mediocre port of an awesome game.

this is a day 1 purchase for me.

started playing the 360 version but didn't finsish it when i found PS3 would have trophies. playing in the dark, alone and late at night is the way to play this game.

speaking of day 1, when is it going to be released? IGN says November 3rd, gamespot says November 4th and the official trailer says October

yeah..the internet is hardly the place to compare high rez textures in video.

Ign said its graphically better. Thats quite the endorsement.

Nice trailer. Bioshock is on my "maybe" list so this info is interesting to me.
I hope the frames per second are of 24 or more because I've noticed past games such as Oblivion with a "jerky" motion as if there were 10 or 12 frames per second and I don't like that. I like it smooth as in car races games

slight better looking textures and 1 extra mode doesnt justify for me to buy this game at $60+tax. It's just another one-year-too-late port for PS3...

I can say Bioshock maxed out at 1080p on my PC looks considerable better than on the 360. It's native res is obviously not 1080p but I bet it is higher than the 640p the 360 got.

If the PS3 resembles what I get out of my PC then it will be a nice upgrade for us, and might make up the wait for some people.

the 360 version had no slow down, nobody thats previewed the ps3 version has complained of such, expect a solid game. and change to a must have, because this game totally is
