Hi All,
I have a Draper 100" screen - a manual pull down that I have set up as a fixed screen. I read in another forum that there are DIY people that have successfully built their own super light weight screen using poplar board framing and screen material. I am looking to setup my screen as a permanent fixed screen without the weight of the casing - and was wondering if anyone has removed their screen from the casing and what type of results you got. What I am looking to do is to remove the manual screen from the casing, frame it with poplar board, and then rehang it as a fixed permanent screen and store or discard the casing. Key word for me, is I want it to be light weight, and since I already have the screen, I thought it would make most sense to use what I have instead of purchasing new screen material. Any thoughts? |
