Default Material for blocking windows

I'd like to cover my window in my HT. I figure there might be some kind of foam I could buy to cover it (and make it look nice as well). Any ideas on where to get something like this?

Home Depot and Lowes both sell foil faced rigid insulation - 1" thick in 4x8 sheets. You could cover it with nice looking fabric.

There is a local store here that sells a lot of materials for sewing etc. The material I purchased on a recommendation was callled "Blackout Material" Took out 99% of light out of the room. I highly recommend, allowed me to sleep during the day while I worked the midnight shift.

Yeah, I'm looking for something to specifically block out the light. I live in Alaska and as we approach Summer, it only starts getting dark around 10 PM. 'Bout 2 hours before I crash.

I'll definitely check out insulation. I was thinking insulation with some sort of black fabric glued on. Since it's pretty lightweight, I could probably just use mounting tape to put it on the window.

Thanks, I'll definitely look into those curtains.

I went to Lowe's and bought some of that foam board insulation with foil on one side. Tomorrow, I hope to cut it and fit it nice and snug into the window. I'll probably just put some acoustic absorbing foam to cover it up and make it look nice.

For another question, I don't have a door. I'm needing a long curtain. I like those thermal blackout curtains... Is eBay a good place to buy curtains?

Thanks guys!

I got my curtain from the site I had posted earlier had no problem. Check my HT. I got the red curtain. Does a great job.

Black-out film is what I used. Absolutely Zero light comes through now.
