I have DirecTV with Metrocast digital cable. The DirecTV package is 3 rooms, 2 being the basic package, and the other has an HD DVR. The service is about $80 per month. The digital cable is around $40 per month, so around $120 together.

If you need home phone service and have high-speed internet, then Ooma is your friend.

I think satellite has better PQ than cable, so, all things being equal, I'd get satellite. The downside, though, is that that signal can drop when it's really cloudy, which can corrupt your picture.

I have the comcast triple play... phone, tv & internet.... pay about $170/mo with taxes... Couldnt be happier! I had dish network and att dsl before... Although dish had better picture, the internet is super fast....

I went from 1.5-2.5 mbps to 8-12 mbps... Huge difference if you download alot like i do... That alone makes it totally worth it to stick with comcast...

Damn, that's a lot of money a month, I never stopped to think about prices as I work for Videotron which is a large cable company in Quebec and get great prices ($55 a month for digital cable including The Movie Network, high speed internet and my home phone with all the services) This thread makes me realize how lucky I am.

I hear you there we get screwed up here with their monopoly - my Rogers internet alone w tax is like $75 - 80, high speed w a 95 gb bandwidth cap - basic phone line w Bell $25 - dropped Cable 2 years ago and watch everything tv off of ninja video...
