Desperate Housewives Season 4 No Blu-ray? - Blu-ray Forum

I normally keep up with all the BD releases via this site, but I was surprised to see Desperate Housewives Season 4 DVD on the shelf today when I went to grab Transformers. So, I assume that Desperate Housewives will not be on blu-ray? Or did this slip by me and it is just coming to BD in a month or two? I searched for this topic and couldn't find it in the forum, so I apologize if this is a repeat.

I bought it on regular DVD because I didn't see it released on Blu-ray. I have a flat-screen and the visual and sound quality is fantastic still. It is a shorter season though due to the writers stike. I think there are 5 discs with a total of 17 episodes. Haven't reached the speacial features or bloopers yet but I'm trying to hurry and finish because Smallville season 7 and Ugly Betty season 2 are being released this Tuesday.

no mention of Desperate Housewives coming out to blu-ray has been made yet but i personally hate it when these companies start releasing it on blu-ray with like season 4 but not season 1 so i think its for the better they didnt start with season 4 because now they can work on the beginning episodes and then just release them on a later day

No, it doesn't appear to be coming to Blu-ray this year. I'd expect to see at least 1 season of Desperate Housewives on Blu next year though.

Too bad 'next year' has passed and still no Desperate Housewives on Blu-ray.

There still seems to be a lot of resistance to TV Shows on blu. SyFy/Universal just announced that Warehouse 13 would be on DVD only. The only way to purchase the show in HD is by download. There seem to be only select series (usually by a select group of studis) that make it to HD - even when the series were originally broadcast in HD.

This should probably be in the TV, not Movies, forum.

Well I think it should be normal to release a tv episode (that was shot in HD, which I think all are today) in HD to download. This is also done with most shows today.

This is great for people like me who sometimes miss an episode because I can then spend a buck or two on just this episode and still see it in HD.

However, the BD release of a season will not be bought by that many people. It will only be bought by real fans who love the show and they might also feel "ripped off" if they bought DVDs before.

Also the cost of a BD release is higher than the cost of a download only release, so I can understand why they don't put DH out on BD yet.
