Default Troy on Blu-ray...

lovin fact that we will get Director's Cut although I'd guess HDDVD would too, right? But it's nice we won't have to replace a theatrical release BD with the director's cut

Definite buy for me too

I didn't hear anything about it being re-released on HD DVD...

Boy I'd be mad if they didn't and I owned the hddvd theatrical release...but then I don't own anything that's on hddvd

I just assumed they would to make $$ and not piss off their supporters. Don't know 4 sure

This won't be a THD title will it, I asked it on the news area but this thread is about Troy so maybe get a faster response, Thanks if anyone can help on this. And I asked this to, isn't it warner that is making the combo discs.

I believe I read somewhere that WB postpone THD disc until 2008.

is the directors cut out on dvd? I saw troy in the theater and was very let down. the iliad is one of my favorite stories and the fact they made the trojan war in ''troy'' look like a cliff's notes version. compressing an epic decade long war into what seemed like a 3 week conflict seemed cheap to me. but I am willing to give it a second chance if the DC is noticeably better, like ''superman 2: richard donner cut'' better.

Now lets hope they replace James Horner's score with the original score by Gabriel Yared! I have to be honest, I thought the movie was boring and the acting seemed very over the top. But I am hoping the director's cut will improve on the boringness.

I read about the directors cut maybe around months ago. When Troy released, Germany was the only country that got the entire pie. The movie had an additional 40 mins of battle scenes. one of them was the personal fight between hector and achilles. the reason they didn't release that version in the U.S was because there was a problem with the movie's length, and the amount of violence in it that the MPAA wouldn't allow it unless edited.

Now regarding the possibility of it released on HDDVD, didn't warner state because of the exclusivity HD recieved, we will be recieving the director's cut of the movies? like the matrix for example.

I thought James Horner's score ruined the movie, those wailing voices drove me crazy, but I still may buy this one & hope Horner score is replaced.

Troy was really lame anyway, atleast the version we saw in theaters....

I wish Warner would give us Batman Begins first over this. I owned Batman Begins on HD-DVD, but have since trashed the format so I need to rebuy it on the real deal....

Yes, I also found Troy to be pretty bad.

It always puzzled me, how they manage to make such a great story...so fantastically boring.
That's an achievement right there.
