Default Slaughter Hotel (Fernando Di Leo)

NEWS
https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=12647

Quote:
Raro Video USA has confirmed that it plans to bring to Blu-ray Italian director Fernando Di Leo's La bestia uccide a sangue freddo a.k.a Slaughter Hotel (1971), starring Klaus Kinski, Margaret Lee, Rosalba Neri, and Monica Strebel. The release is expected to arrive on the American market later this year.

From the maestro of mayhem, Fernando Di Leo (Rulers of the City, Manhunt) comes one of the sleaziest and nastiest slasher films ever made. Starring Klaus Kinski (Herzog's Nosferatu), and two of Europe's most sizzling cinematic sex queens - Margaret Lee (Ricardo Freda's Double Face, Jess Franco's Venus in Furs, Psycho Circus), Rosalba Neri (Lady Frankenstein, Devil's Wedding Night, The Arena with Pam Grier). An axe-wielding maniac stalks the beautiful, scantily-clad women of an upscale sanitarium, all under the watchful eye of the mysterious Dr. Keller (Kinski). Equal and excessive doses of slash and skin make for a very European-style of grindhouse entertainment.

I had the Shriek Show & Raro DVD's of this, they were different cuts. The Raro edition had a little nudity cut from the Rosalba Neri scene with the gardener. Just saying'

The most explicit cut is the French version, and it's available on French dvd.

This giallo is a completely bonkers, nudity filled, violent, laugh riot, and I love it, but I wouldn't say it was one of the better ones, unless you prefer that style...Even Di Leo ridiculed it

Do you have a link please ? I'm thinking of ordering this over the weekend. If this has been Rarofied however, they can keep their shite.

Thanks.

Oh boy, and to think that others have been praising this release in the Raro thread

I almost bought this due to their comments...Thankfully, I waited.

... seems to be enough out there simply happy to see films of this ilk simply appear on blu-Ray.

personally, I can't see how you untangle that issue - I'm of a similar attitude, but I won't buy badly reviewed discs because I think it's still possible to expect more - because the general level of films' bd presentations, despite what the films might be, seems above the general level of what raro is managing to put out.

.

They did, very soft looking. Why do they slap all that grain over the menu images and then remove it from the film itself?

It's obvious that something went wrong taking those screens. Check this out:

While the noise is still there but the horrible artefacts are gone.

You are right about something going wrong with the Beaver's caps. I have the Blu Ray and I don't recall seeing the horrible artifacting that was in those caps on that site.
