I know that a lot of people are obsessive about uniformity in the BD cases. They like them to all have the same look . But personally, I think Blu ray is hampered aesthetically by these cases with the big blu strips etc. To me they are bland and unattractive.
I was watching my Treasure of the Sierra Madre DVD the other day and thinking what a beautiful set that is. A beautiful slipcase and magnificent artwork. ![]() Similarly, I was looking at my SE DVD's of The Towering Inferno and The Sand Pebbles, again beautiful artwork with great slipcases too. It is interesting to compare them to their almost yucky looking BD counterparts. So yeah, I think DVD cases have so much more class and I think our BD cases will look horribly tacky and dated in the years to come. |
