I haven't got my ps2 anymore but have many fond memories like metal gear 2-3 resident evil 4 and many many more

Still have mine but it's no longer hooked up. I have a launch version but since there were shortages I didn't receive mine until February. Even then, I had to order it in a bundle with Madden 01, Tekken Tag and Ridge Racer [insert number].

Playstation 2 was my first big purchase as a kid, before i had a job, while i was in high school a freshman i think it was. i bought GTA3 and Twisted metal Black when i bought the ps2, my dad was proud i was buying something with money i earned from chores n saved up so he chipped in and got a second controller and a memory card.

went home and played it for hours. it was the old fat ps2.. then i met some friends junior year where during the summer we would wake up, meet up, by a game beat it within 2 days go back and get another one, we banged out 30 games easy that summer good times with good people

then years later my friends "found" 7 ps2 slims on the back of a truck, so he gave me one for 10 bucks and i played it more, up until 2007 when in february i bought my ps3

My first experience with PS2 was playing Metal Gear Solid 2 in a friend's dorm room. I was hooked.

Actually my *first* experience with it was that my roommate bought one on launch day with Tekken Tag. However, he never hooked it up for more than 10 minutes to play when nobody was around because he didn't want anyone to play it. And he would store it in the back of his closet in a foot locker, in the box. It was crazy. So I really only got to see him play that once or twice.

I remember the first game I got for my PS2 was Tekken Tag Tournament. Was a great way to start off.

Sad to say, but the PS2's pretty much done at this point. The last really interesting game release for it was last year (Persona 4), and there's literally nothing much on the horizon now - it's being excluded from even some of the mainstream releases.

It still holds a place in my heart as the second best console of all time (a close second behind the Dreamcast).

Well I did at one point tried to get every RPG on PS2 since it is my favorite genre and been doing the same for PS3 and PSP. I think I even own multiple copies of some of them

Guy after my own heart here. I still have most every RPG from the Super NES and PS1. Y'ever check my collection (in the sig) out. I suspect it's similar to yours.

My PS2 is from 2002 and it has problems with the PS2 discs that are blue on the bottom of the disc, like Aliens Vs Predator: Extinction, The Sims, Star Wars Racer: Revenge, etc. But, most games aren't made like that now. It has also a problem loading up DVDs, but I got a Blu-ray player now so problem solved. I got a bit of library of PS2 games, but the only ones I keep out now for playing is Silent Hill.

My PS2 is now retired. Before I got my PS3, I think I had take it apart weekly to get it to work towards the end.

CD-ROM games there, sometimes called as you said 'blue games'. Those became a problem when my fat PS2 got older. I now have a slim PS2 that plays them fine.

Yeah, my PS2 scratched the hell out of my AVP: Extinction. I was pissed because I really got a kick out of that game.
