First of all, wrong section.

Second...the original. Though the remake was pretty good.

Is this even debatable?

The remake was OK but the original is a genre classic.

I'm in the minority here and say the remake was better. Personally I loved the original as a kid but I recently went back and watched it again and sadly it just didn't hold up over time. The only problem I saw with the remake (other than it being in 3-D) was casting McLovin' as a vampire. Even as a vamp he was more palm to the forehead annoying.

The original wins, but the remake was surprisingly pretty good.

The original wins by all accounts (and it's not even close really), but Imogen Poots is way hotter than Amanda Bearse!

I'm with you there. While I really do enjoy the original, I think the remake is much more stylish and entertaining.

The original is still great in its own ways though.

In my humble opinion the original for most movies will usually get the nod, and this is no different. The remake was very good but it just didn't have the same impact for me as the original did.

i have to admit that i'm biased since the original was one of my favorite movies growing up, and i continue to roll my eyes every time another remake comes out (i'm afraid they're going to get stuck that way soon).

i did see the re-make recently & couldn't find one aspect of the movie that i thought was superior in any way... even the creatures (which it lacked compared to the original) weren't very cool looking. Amy's vampire at the end of the original was one of the scariest things i'd ever seen. Jerry in the re-make looked like a bad rip-off out of "From Dusk Til Dawn."

anyway, i don't remember enough from the remake to point out each & every way it's inferior to the original, so suffice to say i don't see any reason to sit thru the new version any time soon. glad to have the original on BD...

Haven't seen the new version, but I do enjoy the original, and have since it's theatrical release.

I'm open-minded, but I have some doubt that it will be the gem the original is.

Honestly i loved both in their own way. The remake was different enough to set itself apart. BUT the original? Is and always will be my favorite vampire movie
