Default This doesnt add to the thread...

May I have your attention please...
So lately somethings been getting on my nerves.. It seems like whenever a B&M store such as Best Buy, Target, *couch* walmart*couch*, Frys, Cost Co, BJ's, ECT... people find the need to make a posting saying something along the lines of

"I hope Amazon price matches this"
or
"Think amazon will Price match this?"
or
"I'm holding out in case Amazon matches it."

What the french toast guys?! .... that doesn't add to the thread!! It just clutters the forums. I can understand the creation of a new thread IF amazon DOES PM the sales.
We get it you just don't wanna pay taxes or hate being out in the public... (even though most of the stores listed above have the prices on their on line website too)But does it really help anyone out by posting those thoughts?
It's like you don't see amazon sales' threads getting flamed with "I hope walmart will PM this"

Does anyone else find these comments to be
-Unnecessary
-Annoying
-Spam

OK im done have a wonderful day!!

What these "Amazon price match people" don't seem to realize is that Amazon has raised prices on BDs pretty much across the board. Almost every title I've had in my wishlist has gone up since they were released.

I try to give my business to the places that actually have the sales, to encourage them to have future sales. If everyone just waited for Amazon to play "follow the leader", we might not have some of the nice sale prices like we've been having. Unless you live far away from places like Best Buy and Target who have these sales, I encourage you to buy there, to give them incentive to have more sales in the future.

I support Amazon by ordering from them and being a Prime member (hell, I just ordered 5 BDs from them today), but lately they've been more of a pricing follower than leader.

Thats what I'm talking about. Not to mention my few cents in taxes keeps these places open. With companies laying people off and closing their doors now a days I like to do what I can to give these employees hrs and keep em off unemployment. The less money companies make the less help they need. IDC if these people might not be the brightest bulbs on the tree or the sharpest knives in the draws... the less of us on unemployment at this time the better.

ummm I never said that. I said "With companies laying people off and closing their doors now a days " Meaning retail as a whole not these specific stores. I was also more focused on employees losing their jobs not the stores closing.
But it all starts somewhere, 1st sales slip, then people are let go, then locations begin to close...

And it makes a lot more sence then the guy in another thread who said he buys at amazon to...

LOL

I shop at B & Ms more so than Amazon because I like to have movies day and date without paying extra for shipping. I tend to go to Best Buy because of pricing and selection, Wal-Mart's getting better though.

My pet peeve is when people go,

"I used a $10 Amazon GC I had and got it for $1.50!! (for a $11.50 item)"
"I used a $5 BB Reward cert for $5.23 total!!"

I never hope Amazon price matches.

If BB, Target, etc., etc advertises a great price, I give them the business. They were worthy enough to step to the plate. Why give it to a company that was forced to lower their prices by another that stepped up.

Thats what I do... but some people just hold out waiting on amazon to PM.. which is fine we all gotta do what we think is right... but I cant enter a single NON amazon posting without the amazon company name coming up in the same sentence as PM.

I just feel that people who post in hopes Amazon PMing aren't adding to the thread as much as people who say
"thats a great price for that movie!!" or "thats a great movie highly recommended".

On the other hand if amazon does or another store PMs or has it cheaper during the same time frame YEAH by all means post it!! who doesn't love having options on where to buy?

This is a discussion board first and foremost. People are "discussing" various things. If you're not patient enough to filter through discussions to find what you're looking for, maybe this isn't the place for you.

Besides, this adds some flavour. Otherwise you'd just have some robotic, emotionless talk where people would just state something and that's it.

when SO many people post "i hope amazon PM" the thread does become ^^.

Besides there is so much more to talk about like the movies on the sale. Isn't that what the forum is about... Discussing sales, and movie on sale? NOT who's not having th sale..

You're supporting my point.

This is a forum for discussion which is what people are doing. If you don't want to sift through what you deem irrelevant, then you might want to stick other sites dedicated to just sales and what not (eg. slickdeals?).

LOL not quite. Its more like you painted yourself into a corner.. See... comments like the ones i listed above ARE " robotic, emotionless talk where people would just state something and that's it." How does hoping someone adds it to their list of sale items productively add to a conversation MORE then talking about the actual products? The pointless comments you defend fall under the terminology you used. I couldn't have said it better myself.

A discussion is like we are having right now...
