Sony BDP-S5000ES Is it worth upgrading?

Ive been thinking about upgrading my current sony BD player to this Sony ES flagship BD player that runs at $1500 but was able to find a local seller selling it in mint condition with box and accesories for $700. Anyone who currently owns this model worth the hype of this model?

I own the Sony BDP 2000ES . I seen this player at the sony store in pleasant prairie , wi . I have to say that the price in high at 1499.00 us dollars . It comes with a 5 year warranty . I paid 299.00 us dollars plus 89.00 for the 5 years warranty at the sony store there . I think its a good player if you have the money to spend on it . I seen it play and it look very good to me . If I had the extra money to spend on it , I would of done that but I dont .
So I went with the sony bdp 2000 es . It was refurbished unit , but is in full working order . I also noticed that the bdp 5000 es had a faster load time , compared to my bdp 2000 es . There's some reviews on you tube you can look at to see. But if you have a sony store near you , I highly recommend you take a visit to them to see it for your self first . If they have a bdp 2000 es and you don't mine a 1 ot 2 minute wait for the blu-ray to load than go that way at 300.00 dollars .

If you need any info on the sony BDP5000 ES . Please let me no , Like I said I seen it at the sony style outlet store In Pleasant Prairie , Wi . I was a great machine . If you get the factory warrany for 700.00 dollars and you want to spend that kind of money , than I would do so . You wont go wrong at all , Like I said in my earlier post to you about the price and what I own .

I think your making a good choice . I don't remember also how old this was but I wanted to give you my two cents on what you may or may not purchase . That would me a good find for 700.00 after all it could cost you 1499.00 for a new in the box one .

This is a great unit I was thinking about buying one my self we have a floor display in our store at $800 so $700 is a good price. I've seen the video on it on the XBR 9 and it plays great I would highly recommend this player.

The outlet store price was was 1499.00 us dollars . I'm not sure if I t was new or refurbished . That was at the sony store in Pleasnat Prairie , Wisconsin . Like I said they had two ES Models The Sony BDP 5000 ES and The Sony BDP 2000 ES . I bought the sony BDP 2000 ES , I did not have the extra money for the BDP 5000 ES or I would of went that route . Its well worth your money to buy that model . it boots up the blu-ray faster . But after I did a firmware update to my player it also boots faster also . I think for the most part they all boot slow , You cant get around that at all . Also the Sony 5000 ES can play sacd's . Mine cant play sacd . But I only have one title from pink floyd on sacd . Well good luck with you blu-ray play when you get it . POst back to let us no how it sounds . I know you will like it for sure .
