Default The 1972 poseidon adventure

Any news when the original 1972 classic "The PoseidonAdventure" might be coming out on bluray?

This is THE title that I want more then any other! Back in 1972, I was an extra in the New Year's Eve party scene (just before it turns over). So of course, this is my favorite movie. Even if I was not in it, it would STILL be my favorite! The special edition dvd is really good (PQ and AQ are outstanding!) and has alot of bonus features. I just want the added sharpness that blu-ray has and I want the original six track stereo sound! Come on Fox, you gave us a great "The Towering Inferno", now give us the granddaddy of all disaster movies!

Yes, bring on The Poseidon Adventure. Along with The Towering Inferno and Universal's Airport we'd have the original "disaster" genre all sewed up on Blu-Ray. Hopefully soon...

"The Towering Inferno" is available on Blu Ray. I would also, as you all have mentioned, love to have "The Poseidon Adventure"

I read somewhere that someone hopes that when "The Poseidon Adventure" is released on blu ray, that they will put back the 20th Century logo in front of the picture, When I saw Poseidon in 1972 it never had the logo. Neither did "The Towering Inferno". The movie just started! Now I do remember on one of the home videos versions that the logo did apper on Poseidon, but it was never released to the theatres like that. But it would be cool to have it there! And the CinemaScope logo, too! With that great fanfare!

The film production of The Towering Inferno was a co-production between 20th Century Fox and Warner Bros - possibly the reason why it was released without a studio logo at the commencement of the film. Always seemed like an abrupt beginning to me, too.

I know that this is a stretch but if you double feature "Poseidon Adventure" and "Towering Inferno", Poseidon ends with a shot of an orange and white helicopter lifting off the hull of the ship and the first shot in Towering is an orange and white helicopter flying over the ocean!!!! Do you think that was planned???? LOL
