Betty White is just awesome personified! How can this NOT be a great episode of SNL?

Betty White is nervous about next week's Saturday Night Live.

"Between us, I'm scared to death," the comic legend said in a press call yesterday. "It's so New York and I'm so California. I'll feel like a fish out of water." White, 88, says she has "no idea" what the writers have planned for her.

But there is one thing she refuses to do. "I won't do any dope jokes. I don't like dope jokes. I don't think dope is a joke."

What's Betty most nervous about?

"I never never been able to work from cue cards," she says. "I memorize it or ad lib it. With cue cards, I hope the print is big enough. If it isn't, I'll do the show with my glasses on."

And don't worry about whether she can handle doing a show that goes into the wee hours of the night. "If I get 4, 5, good hours a night, that's all the sleep I need. I'm blessed with good energy as well as being blessed with good health, so the physical energy doesn't bother me at all."

While a Facebook campaign helped land her the job, she has no Facebook account. "No, I'm a technological spazz."

She says she does have one idea for the show. "My only suggestion was that when you come out everyone's going to be excited. I would love it if they'd introduce me saying, 'Here's Betty White!' And the audience just stares at me. Nothing. I think that'd be fun."

When asked about her Golden Girls buddy Rue McClanahan, White said the two stay in touch and talk about every three or four weeks. "She had a bum go. She had a triple bypass and then had a stroke and she's just doing fine. She's home and doing better and better and her speech is all cleared up. She's in great shape."
