Default Shark Week: Jaws of Steel Collection Blu-ray Vs DVD

Today in Walmart I saw the new "Shark Week: Jaws of Steel Collection" on both Blu-ray and DVD for the same price of $19.95. At first I was pleased to see both formats at the same price making the Blu the one to buy, but then I noticed something odd. The Blu-ray was a two disc set with both discs 1 & 2 being the same and discs 1 & 2 on DVD, but the DVD version came with a bonus 3rd disc. Thus (for me) making the DVD the better buy for the added specials. Odd that Discovery would add a bonus disc to the DVD and not the Blu-ray.

It's hard for me to follow what you are saying when you say discs one and two are the same. Could whatever was on the DVD third disc be on one of the Blu rays? ... There would be more room for stuff clearly.

Looking on Amazon it seems both formats are 2 disc sets with a total of 8 episodes... ??

Nope... Discs 1 & 2 on the Blu have the exact same content as discs 1 & 2 on the DVD.

Just more shark week specials. I don't remember the specifics. I'm going to stop back in tonight now that I see this might just be a Walmart thing to see if the specials are on any other the other Shark Week releases.

Amazon doesn't list any differences between the two. Both have eight episodes with two bonuses:

Cash Cab: Shark Week Edition
Shark Under Glass

Amazon list both as 2pc sets. Perhaps Wal-mart had an exclusive third disc for the dvd?

The DVD version has a 3rd bonus disc. It might be a Walmart exclusive but if it is, nowhere on the package did it state that.

My wallmart dot com lists the DVD set as 2 discs.

I think your walmart had a bunch of left over shark action dvds and they just taped them to the package.

Anyways,... a bunch of shark week in HD vs a bunch of shark week on DVD with a little extra still comes up as a plus for the Blu Ray set to me.
