Yes it's a bloated epic with more flaws than I could conceivably hope to point out during its runtime, but the camera work is gorgeous, and the majority of performances in it are great if not downright fantastic. I still have a hard time understanding why it never got a legit US DVD release, and have felt jilted with some of the shoddy pan & scan and bootlegged excuses for a DVD presentation I've tried out from abroad. Nonetheless, this is one I think would be amazing on blu.

I believe it is highly under rated. It was a brilliant movie, with an excellent score. I too, have been frustrated that it is not even available in an acceptable DVD.
