Default Charlie's Angels first Blu-ray Disc completed...What happened with this?

This is from another website. The post is dated 11-20-2005. But Charlie's Angels have never been released on Blu-ray yet, has it?

Charlie's Angels first Blu-ray Disc completed...
authoring has been completed on the first Blu-ray Disc (BD) to contain a
full-length, high-definition feature film. Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle
was compressed and authored in MPEG 2 full high-definition (1920 x 1080) by
Sony Pictures' Digital Authoring Center (DAC) and is now being shipped to BD
hardware companies for player testing.

Utilizing Blu-ray's unprecedented storage capacity, the Charlie's Angels:
Full Throttle disc features dynamic menus with full resolution graphics and
animation, superior audio and unparalleled picture quality. "We are confident
this achievement will help everyone understand that Blu-ray is real and poised
to enter the marketplace," said Mr. Feingold. "Blu-ray will bring the highest
quality HD experience possible to the home."

"We are extremely proud to deliver on the promise of Blu-ray. This is an
important step for our industry in order to begin mass production of
high-definition movies in the Blu-ray format in the near future," said Don
Eklund, Senior Vice President, Advanced Technologies, Sony Pictures Home
Entertainment.

"Sony Pictures authoring tools, together with our unmatched expertise,
have made the first Blu-ray Disc a reality and we are thrilled to ship this
prototype disc to BD hardware manufacturers for testing," said James Mercs
Senior Vice President and General Manager, Digital Authoring Center, Sony
Pictures Home Entertainment.

I'm surprised both films haven't been announced yet.

Incidentally, Charlie's Angels was my first DVD, to play on my first DVD-capable PC (third or fourth computer overall)

I want these on Blu-ray so bad. Never bought the first one on DVD, and have a guilty pleasure for the second one.

if I had to guess, it was probably encoded the same way the terminator 2 and the other early BD discs, they delayed it for some reason or other and while it was delayed it got passed by to make way for other new releases... as I said it's just a guess.

Really, how long does it take to put out a bd. Must be taking the slow road in China.

I remember seeing this movie on a lot of early Blu-ray promotional literature and spots. Sony must have pulled it for whatever reason. Remember how Batman Begins was on the early BD in-store demo? It only took two years for us to get that one...

Not sure if I ever saw the second movie but I saw and owned the first on VHS haha. I'd definitely get these when they come out, it's been a while since I've watched them, or just the first one.

The first was available on VHS? I thought they had stopped releasing them by the time the first movie came out on DVD.

The first one is a guilty pleasure of mine so I will buy that one, however the second one's way oversaturated color makes me want hurl, so I will pass on that one.

I actually have the two disc superbit version that I got at Big Lots for three bucks. Would buy the first one if it was the right price and the second one if they did a great box set deal like they did with the Karate Kid movies.

I always wondered why websites said this was the first BD ever made. I would love to have both of the films on BD. I only have the sequel on DVD.

Yeah I had it on VHS, along with Miss Congeniality and Legally Blonde. I might even still have all of them somewhere. They all came out in 2000. Which is also when I bought my first DVD How the Grinch Stole Christmas, that I never watched.

First one is good which makes no sense, but it's a great guilty pleasure film. The opening sequence alone, with the TJ hooker reference and the long shot in the plane is worth the rental.

The second is nearly unwatchable, but the theatrical cut, which is only released in a pan & scan DVD, somehow improves it. The Blu-Ray should hold both cuts in widescreen (and not two different movie encodes). My feeling is they won't even bother and it will be issued to lackluster sales.

I love the character of Thin Man, played by Crispin Glover. The producers should make him the hero of his own franchise of movies.
