Default new polk speakers but i need a reciver

This is the list of speakers i plan on getting from Amazon

Polk tsi300 2 fronts
Cs10 center
tsi100 2 rear speakers
Psw10 sub

But I want a receiver to go with them but don’t know what to get. My total for the speakers is a little over $800 I am willing to spend about $2000 with receiver but I will have to add 2 speakers and a sub if the receiver is 7.2 will take any and all advice. Thanks for all the help.

you do not have to add 2 additional speaker, you can run 5.1 on any 7.1 receiver and same for sub, you can run a single sub on a .2 receiver or multiple subs on a .1 receiver.

I would suggest that if you can take the CS10 back and get the CS20, you will like it better. Trust me, everyone with a CS10 or CS1 wishes they have the CS20 or CS2. Also, if you can take the Sub back and look at the Premier Acoustic PA-120, it will be a much better sub then the on you got. Not tring to put down what you got, just help you to have a better overall system you will love for a long time.

Secondly I would suggest that you look at the Marantz 5004 you can get one new for about $850 or a refurb/pre-owned from accessories4less.com for about $599 and they have a 1 yr warranty, so no worries there.

Otherwise Look at the Pioneer Elite VSX-21.

Yes , 2 or 4 subs are better , But why not get 1 real good sub much better than the polk . eD A2-300 would be much better . I think it runs about $350.oo !

That's a nice setup. Excellent choice on the receiver.

OP this is an excellent suggestion for a sub. For the money I don't think you could do better.

Yeah,if you want to do it right the first time, listen to these guys, they'll steer you right. You might check out newegg.com,the Polk CS2 is $129 and like they said is a huge center, hard to beat for its price. Also maybe look at some other subs,i think you will want more power for sure.

Batmanfan,

have you already ordered the rest of your speaker or just the CS2?

While the PSW110 is a decent sub, I would honestly think that the PA-120 or the eD A2-300 or the Hsu STF-2 would be better subs. If you haven't ordered the sub yet, please check these out also.

there are some excellent deals on refurbished Marantz receivers on accessories4less.com. Absolutely no problems with the sr6003 I ordered. I'd definitely stay clear of the PSW10 sub. Just doesn't have the power to do much but rattle a little.

I have to agree. The Pioneer 1019 didn't bench test very well.

http://hometheatermag.com/receivers/...r/index4.html#

Five channels driven continuously into 8-ohm loads:
0.1% distortion at 28.7 watts
1% distortion at 34.3 watts
I don't know how they're claiming this model pushes 120 watts/channel into seven channels. According to the test results, it doesn't even come close.

IMO if you're going to go with Pioneer, at least go with the VSX-21THX, which is the first model available in the Elite line.

Is the Polk cs20 center speaker the same quality as the Polk Cs2?

Same exact speaker...the CS20 just has the glossy piano black sides to the cabinet that the CS2 does not have.
