SHARP Aquos BD-HP21U - Firmware issue.

Sorry - long story here, but I need some help, some guidance & advice I guess...

SHARP Aquos BD-HP21U is my player. I bought it 2 years ago to sync (which it does, fairly nicely) with my SHARP Aquos LCD TV. This BD player has needed several firmware updates issued (especially with 20th CentFox) during that time, which is fine cause they'll all corrected the problem, with a minimal waiting period. I'm a MAC guy, no PCs here, and over the last two years I've been able to DL the zip file which contains the updates with no problem.

Avatar needed an update. Sharp generated & posted one yesterday which I DL'ed like usual, no problems with the DL. When I copied it to my USB drive and plugged into my BD player it said it could not update because I have multiple files on my USB drive. Hmmmm... No I don't. I always clear it when I update. It's the same USB drive I had for some time now. & I've always transferred them from a Mac.

So I call Sharp and they basically tell me I'm doing something wrong, though I've done this exact same process for multiple updates. Then they all the sudden tell me the updates are not compatible via Mac. Weird. Now? They've always worked before. So anyway... I went to my friend's house, cleared my USB drive & DL'ed the update from his PC... Guess what. Still the same issue.

Sharp continues to tell me I'm doing something wrong, though I'm certain I've run nearly every condition possible. Now I'm stuck with a glitchy, yet viewable, Avatar.

Any thoughts? Did this make sense at all? I'm drunk... j/k.
