2017 Paramount Blu-ray Wave?

Seeing a bunch of these going on preorder so I am wondering if they will be reissueing these the same way as the Godfather trilogy and Untouchables with the white slipcovers a month ago.

I believe they're just re-releases as Warner is not distributing them anymore.

Nice to see Paramount finally deciding to put some of their movies out on BD themselves.

I see nothing here that wasn't recently distributed by Warner though. In fact, a lot of these were part of Paramount's own first run of catalog titles. No newly authored discs though in any case.

I got stacks of DVDs I still want to replace with HD versions and the biggest stack BY FAR is the Paramount one.

Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

The only one out of this list I have is the south park. My hope is that they all have slips as I am a big slipcover nut.

How about some Vistavision Classics from the 50's ! ? Same re releases. Saturday Night Fever 40th was very Good ! The only WB Paramount I bought was OK Corral. Where's ... Last Train from Gun Hill ???? and many others.

Paramount's latest release for Juice is one of the best 4K remasters I've ever seen so I really hope this is a beginning for them to start releasing their catalog titles.

Still no Pretty In Pink and Some Kind Of Wonderful on Blu-ray but yet they can rerelease these movies over and over again.

I find it difficult to drum up much enthusiasm for a bunch of blu-rays being released for the [at least] third time. There are so many Paramount DVD releases yet to be upgraded to bluray and they seem to be resistant to licencing them to their partners at Kino or Olive, so it would be nice if they got off their butts and released them themselves.

You're acting like these rereleases are taking spots from new releases, when if they weren't releasing these waves of the same old discs, they'd probably be releasing nothing.

Well that's nice for you, but every single one of the titles on that list that I want... I already have. And a lot of people who missed out when they first went out of print, panic purchased them when they were re-released by Warner. So they're not going to get much in the way of sales by re-releasing all this stuff all over again without anything new. I honestly don't care if Paramount releases ANY of those titles like Ordinary People, Paint Your Wagon, etc., just let Olive or Kino take their pick and release them instead.

No I don't think these are taking spots away from new releases. I know fully well Paramount isn't into doing catalogue releases anymore. It's more out of frustration, how hard would it be for them to do a double feature Blu-ray of Some Kind Of Wonderful/Pretty In Pink. It's always rereleases, either from Warner or them. I am happy they are putting some old catalog out so people can buy these at affordable prices instead of paying $60 for stuff like Waynes World because it's OOP. Just wish Paramount cared about catalogue, but they don't.
