Anybody ever use a mobile stand for a large plasma? I need to pick a screen and have two choices: either a fixed screen and a rolling cart/stand for my tv to roll out of the way when i watch movies or an electric sceen that comes down in front of the wall mounted plasma. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

I see you have vaulted ceilings, so I see your dilemma. Let me ask, why would an electric screen work, but a manual pulldown not? Would it be because it would be mounted too high on the ceiling to reach or it would not look aesthetically good?

This will be in my basement, i`m moving it all down there. The Ceilings are 7'8". I`m not too crazy about a manual pulldown, i know you have one so no offense ![]() Lee |

No offense, different strokes for different folks. Well, I like the idea of fixing the TV to the wall and using an electronic screen to come down in front if it best. I think both for convenience and aesthetically speaking, this would work out better than having to manually move the TV out of the way each time you want to view the screen. And if you can do 2.35:1 screen without sacrificing too much screen size than with a 16:9 (if width is a problem) then go that route too. I would have lost too much screen size if I went 2.35:1 since my basement is only 10 feet wide and I still needed room on both sides for my front speakers.

I am actually leaning toward scope, got plenty of side room. The carada seems like a great screen but they only make it fixed. I saw 125" cinetension2 scope elec for about $1200.00 so that makes it a little less than a Carada and a mobile stand. The reviews seem pretty good for the cinetension2, do you know anything about this screen?

Wow! After reading through the dedicated Elite screen thread on that other forum, it seems if you get a good one on the first try, you are one of the lucky ones, alot of guys have to get to 3 or 4 to get a good one. Anybody on here have a similar bad experience with Elite? This has me back to leaning toward fixed screen and rolling stand.

If you go with a fixed screen get a Carada. I used to have one and I cannot recommend them enough or speak more highly of a company. Superb service, communication, and outstanding craftsmanship on the screens. When I get another projector/screen setup I'm getting a Carada. |
