It appears that Cult Epics are set to enter the market with Mr.Metzger’s Score (1974) on October 26:

This sounds cool. I hope it's the uncut X rated version. I actually did a composite edit for a friend years ago from 2 different sources. The difference is quite dramatic and full out porn in some spots. I wonder which version Radley Metzger himself prefers.

Unfortunately, the most widely-circulated print - which bears a 1976 copyright - is the softcore version. Metzger reportedly prefers this cut of the film, but the all-important sex scenes are seriously compromised by jarring edits and obvious gaps in the soundtrack. The film remains a worthwhile curio, but its erotic potency has been severely blunted by unnecessary censorship.
What's cut really isn't anything to write home about but it adds a few minutes to the run time. It's really only in the long sex scene towards the end. However the editing is better in the uncut because the music doesn't cut randomly. I had a friend who was obsessed with this movie and even went as far as to have an audio interview with the producer or writer I can't remember which. We put together our own special edition DVD with my composite cut and the interview. It was cool but I'd love to get an official uncut release. The run time on the uncut X is 92 minutes. |

If they are touting the theatrical and Unrated cuts of the film I would assume one of the cuts is the more graphic version, right?
also the commentary track featuring Michael Bowen, isn't that the actor who has been featured in many a Tarrantino film? Or am I confused? Last edited by PowellPressburger; 07-09-2010 at 04:55 PM. |

Rec'd my Blu-Ray copy today from amazon.com
The slip states the film is the UNCENSORED VERSION the Blu case inside slip seems to contain the cover art for the regular Blu edition. However the Snit theft sticker on top of case states UNCENSORED. ScoreFrontFINAL.jpg ScorebackFINAL.jpg [Show spoiler] I haven't had a chance to look at the image quality yet etc... and I've NEVER EVER seen this film so I won't really know how much more explicit this version really is. The Back Cover states Never Before Released Uncensored, Uncut Version (Includes 7 minutes of additional Adult scenes) INSERT inside Case Looks like we have more Metzger on the way! I didn't see any region symbol on your images, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Plus I don't have thirty-odd dollars to throw down the drain if it doesn't work. |

so I'm assuming you ended up with the uncensored bd even though the artwork looks like what amazon showed for the censored.
is it possible that only the uncensored has the sleeve? I'm really tempted to order this, but there are just so many titles I want right now. sadly enough I'd have to say the more graphic it is the more willing I might be to get this. Are the scenes that someone alluded to earlier--that he supposdly "disowned"--part of this version? ![]() |

I watched this last night. Not sure I'll keep it, as the scene with the two guys is quite explicit in this version, and that's not my cup of tea.
