Default Profile 2.0

I was just reading about profile 2.0 (BD-Live), also known as BD-Live, adds network connectivity to the list of mandatory functions and increases mandatory local storage capability to 1 GB. Now my question is, this local storage capability, is it RAM or hard drive space? i have the ps3 as my br player and it only has 256mb, so when the profile becomes availible will the ps3 be compliant? if anyone knows dont be affraid to share.

RAM is not storage, it's a buffer more than anything

They mean flash memory, or in the PS3 case a hard drive
