Default HMV steelbooks have paint issues?

I recently got Super 8 from HMV and when opening the packet I noticed the gooey glue pulled a spec of paint off the steelbook (although I couldn't find the spec). It was 3mm and its silver underneath, so a silver bit amongst the big blue really stands out.

Yesterday Cowboys and Aliens arrived and again, 2 specs of paint missing.

I sent super 8 back to HMV hoping for a replacement. I worked a workaround solution for C&A as the paint was black I just touched it up.

This seems to be quality control issue or is just bad luck on my part? 2 in a row might be coincidental but not heard any reports from anyone else having similar issues.

Let us know if you find anything. Check around the opening sides of the exterior.

Cheers.

Sorry to hear that, bad luck I am afraid. Mine were fine. Perhaps you should amend the title to state that yours were affected rather than making a generalisation about HMV paint quality on their steels...god knows they are struggling enough

Same paint issues in my copy too. Also, tts there on the French Steelbook too.

Even Captain America SB has minor paint issues.

In my opinion, the quality (not the design) of the Paramount Steelbooks have gone down gradually because of paint issues and too much of flexing on the embossed areas.
