Take batteries out and use a universal to see what happens. If it still does it, call customer support .

LG can't make a good firmware for any of their players. I've had 2 LGs and both were POS. I will never buy another one.

I'm so glad I didn't update my LG BD530 firmware! I don't have any issues with my cheap LG BD530 $65 Blu-ray player that I bought from Ralph's (a grocery store). It will even play 50Hz Blu-rays imported from the UK. It's too bad you can't re-install the old firmware.
