Featuring the original all-star Japanese voice cast and subtitled in English, Yakuza 3 chronicles the next steps in the life of the man once known as the Dragon of Dojima – Kiryu Kazuma.

As Kiryu works to begin a new life running an orphanage in Okinawa, the world he left behind in Tokyo also moves quickly. When the chairman of the Tojo clan is shot and the rivalry between the families plunges the city into chaos, even Okinawa is not far enough away to escape the grasp of the mysterious forces pulling the strings.

Then, when one of Kiryu’s close friends in Okinawa is found with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, things take a new turn for the worse. Driven to protect his friends, the Dragon is alive again – Kiryu returns to the dark city of Kamurocho, and will stop at nothing to find those responsible and give them his own taste of justice.

Releasing March 2010, the epic Yakuza saga continues, exclusively on the PlayStation 3.

FEATURES
  • Rich Stories to Tell: Japanese author Masayoshi Yokoyama returns to deliver the next chapter of Yakuza bringing the game to life through a rich cast of characters and dozens of stories. All told across over 100 missions and engaging mini-games featuring original Japanese voice cast to ensure the authenticity fans have come to expect.
  • Ultimate Street Brawls: Seamlessly transition into intense fights more brutal than ever before thanks to the improved fighting engine and the power of the PlayStation 3. By stringing together a combination of fighting moves, players can unleash devastating moves to take out multiple enemies simultaneously or use objects in the environment as weapons.
  • Real-world Immersion: Discover the authentic, sandy beaches of Okinawa or travel to the neon-lit adult playgrounds of Tokyo. Become a regular at nightclubs, restaurants and stores to uncover hidden truths and side missions.
  • New ways to Explore: With new locations to venture through, the all-new free camera mode and high energy chase battles, Yakuza 3 offers an unprecedented level of exploration and interaction not seen in the franchise before.
The Yakuza series is the brainchild of Toshihiro Nagoshi. Along with the Yakuza saga, Toshihiro also created the beloved Super Monkey Ball series and has worked on other well known SEGA games such as Daytona USA, F-Zero GX and Spikeout.

Famitsu got the scoop on the latest chapter in Toshihiro Nagoshi's gangster epic, with first screenshots and commentary from Nagoshi himself.

The new title begins immediately after the events of part 2, as in right after that game's last scene. Kazuma and Haruka decide to head down to Okinawa, where they expect to find a peaceful life.

As previously announced, Yakuza 3 will alternate between Okinawa and the original's Tokyo-based location. There will be some similarities between the two locations, including the use of signs and shops from real world brands. Yakuza 3 has the highest number of tie-ups so far for the series, explained Nagoshi.

Yakuza veterans will see some improvements to the game's environments, outside of the obvious up in visual quality. The night life will be more realistic than ever, with large groups of people walking through the streets and even taxis racing from location to location.

You'll get to enjoy this more advanced night life with a more advanced camera system. Yakuza 3 includes a free camera, allowing you to control your viewpoint.

Other areas of improvement include more advanced AI for town residents, who react more realistically when being bumped into, and a reduction in load time. Nagoshi told the magazine that load times are almost completely gone, with the transition from encounter into battle being seamless.
