Default Some Much Deserved Praise!

For many years I've been waiting for a durable media format to store information that would replace my cds/dvds, and I'm glad to see it's finally here! I have never been a supporter of the whole "Compact Disk" format (I.e. DVDs) due to the fact that they are so prone to scratches and surface wear. Having been fed up with this problem several years ago (As far as my CD collection was concerned) I decided to make the move to Minidisk format, but was discouraged to find out it didn't take off as much as it should have. (Let it be said I have NEVER faced a problem with a Minidisk as of yet...because it's protected!)

The day has finally arrived when I can be proud of a format that is being produced on the market that will lead this industry in a whole new direction. It's about time a company realized the important of size and durability of it's products, thus I am ready to take on Blu-ray as my format of choice!

I agree that BD's durability is a huge plus for the format. I've always handled my CDs and DVDs with care but the inevitable scratches still develop.

this will certainly help me back up my terabyte of harddrive, but i'm really looking forward to the supposed 100gb+ versions, i think they have the potential to bring world peace
