Im not sure that it (the player) reads/plays dolby Atmos as it says (in the specifications of the player): Dolby Digital/ TrueHD / Dolby Digital Plus / DTS-HD Master Audio/ DTS-HD High Resolution Audio.

But maybe I might be wrong

How are you connected to the sound bar? You'd need to have your player connected directly.

If you press SOUND EFFECT whilst running Atmos or DTS:X, it should say "NOT SUPPORTED" on the display.

It won't be able to decode it but it should be able to bitstream it to the soundbar.

Yes, it doesn't matter what the player does as long as it can output a TrueHD bitstream - the Atmos data is embedded in that for compatible audio equipment to read.

If the connection is via ARC is might not work as not all TVs will be compatible. If it's connected directly - player to soundbar via HDMI (and it's set to bitstream) - then it should be fine.

Are the audio output settings on the player set to bitstream?

No player can decode Dolby Atmos or DTS:X. The player has no idea where the speakers are in your setup, so your sound device has to be what decodes it.
