So I have a trial for Prime, but I don't plan on keeping it. What I want to know is if I change all my preorders to 2 day shipping and cancel my Prime trial, will it still ship for free with 2 day shipping even if it comes out after the trial ends?

I think the free two day shipping only applies during the trial period, but once you let it lapse then you'll be back to normal shipping rates. I got the same offer and it said to try the free Prime trial period to get free two day shipping.

yes it will. I had the trial with a good chunk of pre-orders after the date and they shipped free 2-day. Some of the orders were months after my trial was over. Just dont cancel the order after the trial ends.

That's the thing about Prime. When you try it, you get spoiled. Once that trial runs out you're going to miss it and eventually just get it.

Rather that start a new thread I figured I'd post here.
I started my Amazon Prime Free Trial this weekend when I ordered T2. For some reason I was charged $1.00 right away, and then the $10 once T2 shipped. Why was I charged $1.00? ![]() |

It's probably a credit card validation charge relating to the subscription component of Amazon Prime.

That should be the way it works. As soon as the charge is authorized (and your card is confirmed as valid), it will be dropped and no debit made to your account.

I had that $1 on me, too, several month ago. Nothing to worry about. It will go away.
The thing to be concerned about is how much you miss Prime when it is gone. I had the free trial and loved getting things in two days. I didn't go for the $79 Prime membership when done and I just get things via the free shipping over $25...but it takes several days now for them to even move things from "Not Yet Shipped" to "Shipping Soon." Beginning to feel I am now on a list where they deliberately slow the processing of an order so I will buy Prime. What I don't like is Amazon saying one gets free 2-day shipping...if you pay $79 for a year's membership. Hey, Amazon, that's not my description of free!!!
