Dennis Hopper passes away

Dennis Hopper, the director, star and co-writer of "Easy Rider" and an edgy actor in numerous other films, has died at age 74 after a lengthy illness, his production company Easy Rider Productions confirmed.

As many of you may have heard recently that Dennis Hopper was diagnosed with inoperable terminal cancer, it was just revealed that he has only one month to live. This is really sad news, I was enjoying his performance on 'Crash' and really looking forward to the next season. I hope for the best for Dennis, and that he doesn't suffer much longer. It's very sad that at a time like this his wife is dragging his name through the mud and claiming such terrible things, more than likely in the name of money.

The wife of dying Hollywood legend Dennis Hopper claimed he made death threats against her, The Sun reported Wednesday.

Victoria Duffy, 42, also alleged the cancer-stricken star, 73, kept loaded guns within reach of their daughter Galen, six, and smoked cannabis in front of the child.

She said after one argument that the Easy Rider actor told her, "Something bad is going to happen to you" and another time he threatened to "end" her.

The accusations, made in court papers filed by Duffy Tuesday, come after Hopper filed for divorce from his spouse of 13 years on his hospital bed two weeks ago

Duffy claims he was "pressured" into the move by relatives who do not want her to inherit when he dies.

However, sources close to Hopper insist that the star is determined to stop his wife from contesting his will, which leaves her only one-quarter of his estate.

The actor, who is dying from prostate cancer at a Los Angeles-area hospital, is apparently trying to hang on until his divorce from Duffy becomes final.

"I wish Victoria the best, but (I) only want to spend these difficult days surrounded by my children and close friends," he said in a statement last week.

Wow! I didnt know that! I was enjoying Crash also. The 2nd season was much better than the 1st season. I wonder what this will do to the show or if they continue? Anyway I hope he hangs in there. Got Em!!

He was diagnosed in October, and as soon as it was revealed he has only weeks to live, she went public with this. Really horrible person in my book. He said he is hanging on to make sure his daughter from another marriage gets everything and his current wife who he filed for divorce from last week gets nothing. It looks like it is a going to be a bitter end for Dennis. Instead of enjoying his last few weeks, she is putting him through this. No class.

When my father told me yesterday that he heard on the radio Dennis was dying I figured it was more radio bullshit, cause I hadn't heard a thing. So when I looked it up today and found that it was true and he has only weeks to live, that was all the more tragic. My favorite author Robert B. Parker passed earlier this week, and now another hollywood legend who i've enjoyed very much over the years is going to soon be gone. So far 2010 is shaping up to be a really terrible year.

In the recent Oct issue of Interview magazine Dennis Hopper interviewed Kristen Stewart (she was on the cover). It was a great little interchange between Dennis & Kristen. At the start, he asked Kristen to say hello to his 6 year old daughter on the phone. Kristen was a bit dumbfounded by the fact he was interviewing her, but he reassuredly told her it was because she's a really good actress he said and enjoyed her work in The Panic Room & Into the Wild. They both talked about actors they both have worked with and admired.

Very sad news, seems to really love his kids, he's definitely looked up to by his peers in the industry.

Very good actor, who I enjoyed in many films (most recent being Elegy). His wife has no class to say things like this when he has so little time left. I'd take her out of the will completely.

Rebel Without Cause, Giant, Cool Hand Luke, Blue Velvet, Out of the Blue, Speed, and Flashback were also good films that Hopper appeared in.

I just watched Rebel a couple months back, and laughed at what a babyface he was and of course the egg eating contest in Luke was awesome He stole the movie in Blue Velvet with that oxygen tank and sexual depravity. I loved that guys work.

It's sad for Hopper, but I don't think any of us should pass judgment on him or his wife, considering we know nothing about the situation. It may be easy to side with him since he's the celebrity/idol for many people, but that doesn't mean his side of the story is right.

But the simple fact that she didn't go public until he was revealed he has week to live. Come on, that's just classless. Of course we know he smokes weed and owns guns he's Dennis Hopper. But this broad comes across in her interviews as a "victim" but it's just about the money and we all know that. Not like the guy hasn't smoked weed his entire life, he's Dennis ****ing Hopper.
