What's going on...? Wanted to order it from Amazon and it's out of stock. Totally, it seems.....there are only listings for market place sellers, and the one that is "fulfilled by Amazon" is priced outrageously.
Should I worry about availability or will it come back into stock? Or is this part of some Amazon/distributor standoff and it won't be back in atock for a long time?

I was wondering since I've never bought any of the series (was thinking of holding out until a boxed set is out)

Do the blu rays have the original music in it? I heard that the digital versions of Supernatural have the original rock and roll music replaced with crummier tunes which was why I haven't gotten them online. Plus, I think the discs are cheaper.

If you don't want to wait till the show is over, check out Amazon.co.uk. They have a new box set each year, its region free, and its a LOT cheaper than the US releases.

I second this. Although recently AMZ UK has stopped shipping heavy things to the US. You can find them decently priced on Ebay though, around $100.

I haven't bought season one because they replaced all the music. Even on Netflix, it's not the original music. Blech.

I bought all nine seasons on Blu-ray earlier this year and haven't checked them out yet, but from what I can gather from a quick Google/Amazon search, the original music is in fact in the DVD/Blu-ray home releases. I guess they only changed the music for the digital episodes.

Which is weird, too, because the following seasons have the original music on Netflix. I really want season 1, but I won't buy it unless I know for a fact it has the original music.

Season 1 aired in 2005-2006, and I believe 2007 was the year that all contracts across the board in television stipulated use of music across all platforms for perpetuity (by this point, studios released that music replacement and re-licensing costs were a problem because tv on dvd was becoming so popular). So you won't see any music replacement (bar special circumstances à la Parenthood's theme song) in series/seasons that aired in 2007 or later, it's any releases earlier than that that have issues.

I'm not sure what you guys are going on about. I just threw in disc one of season one and checked the first few eps against the wiki. All the tracks that are supposed to be there by AC/DC, Foreigner, Ratt, Allman Bros., etc. were all present on the blu-ray. If you want to provide more specifics I will check for you but my copy does not seem gimped on the music.

As far as I know the music replacement only happens on Netflix. I don't think they have or will replace it on the blu-ray discs

Okay, thanks. The reason I'm asking is because on the reviews on iTunes, there seems to be an issue with the music tracks. Just wanted to make sure it didn't transfer to the blu rays.

BTW, seasons are on sale on Amazon for 19.99 for blu rays for most seasons. I know there's a boxed set, but some have the uv codes and may buy just for that. Plus, Best Buy has season 9 blu ray on sale for 16.99 this week. May hold out until the series is over but who knows.

He/she was simply asking if the original music was on the Blu-ray release of the first season.
