I guess it's too late now. Everybody watches music videos on YouTube. I wonder if there would still be a big market in home video enthusiasts who know the difference a disc can make. The crappy thing about all those officially licensed videos on YouTube is that they are all in standard definition anyway, since the labels have no incentive to remaster them, unlike with a format like Blu-ray. They don't even look or sound as good as the DVD counterparts most of the time.
I'd be ecstatic if Sony released a Michael Jackson collection through their Epic label. Oh, I forgot... Everybody now judges him because of a badly made documentary, so we "cancelled" him. Warner Bros. could release a huge Madonna collection. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. They also own Prince's videos. But he only made a few really good ones. I think Universal now owns Janet's videos. |
