I was under the impression that TV shows that are transfered to BD were 1080i+17mbps approx, but I now get the feeling that they "might" typically be up to 30mbps or higher, for example Dexter.....200mins on a 50gig BD disc.
Speaking of Dexter, does anyone know if it's being released in Australia on BD? |

This is not necessarily the case for American productions, which are often re-mastered for 1080p on BD and can, as you say, have higher bit rates and superior A/V than their 1080i HD broadcasts.
