Weird problem playing blu-rays on Sony Vaio Laptop

So recently I have been using my laptop to watch movies on when I am not at home. I use the Corel WinDVD blu-ray player that came installed on the machine.

Anyway the problem is on some movies when I hit escape instead of just exiting fullscreen it jumps to a random spot in the movie, the same thing happens when I hit the spacebar to pause the movie instead of pausing it skips to a random spot.

It does not do this on all discs but the ones it does do it on, do it every time.

I don't know if it's something with the discs so a few of the discs it does this on our: Juno, Smallville season 7, and Aviator.

None of these do the same thing when played on a PS3 or my Samsung stand alone.

Any help on how to remedy this would be appreciated as it is quite annoying.
