Default My Caravan Home Theater Setup

Hi guys, I've been living in a 25 foot Jayco Caravan with an attached deck/annex for a few years now, and I thought I might show you the HT that I set up in the bedroom.
The room is no more the size of about 2.2x 2.2 meters (edit, might be bigger, need to re-measure, but sizes quoted here are a guess)
The rears are slight forward of my head, but I don't have much room to play wit, it's not ideal, but it works.
This system is brutal for the space it's in, and some soundtracks can leave me rather overwhelmed, but with a large grin on my face.
The sub is one thing that will be replace soon, hopefully with a REL subwoofer.
I love this system, it's been the most enjoyable one I've ever owned, even over a system I used to have that had a krell Kst-100 included.
Perfect fit for the space. Most people are gob smacked after hearing it, and even after two years of owning it, it still surprises me, especially when the Cambridge audio BR player replace the PS3, and only then I realized how inferior a PS3 is as a BR player.
All the speakers are running mid/high with the sub doing the bottom end for all channels, which is why a sub upgrade is required, but the current one is holding its own quite well, but could be better. The new REL sub will be a 500 watt one, over kill for the room, but considering the sub is under the bed in a box (bed base frame) a sub with massive amounts of control and constraint is needed, and enough power to do the work of 5 speakers as well as it's .1 channel.
Now hopefully I can link the pics from my gallery here, so if they are not, I'm working on it

It consists of the following:

Marantz AV-8801 pre/processor
3 x Rotel RB-1581 mono blocks (L C R)
RB-1552Mk2 for the rear channels
Cambridge Audio AZUR 752bd Blu-Ray Player
Sony KDL-42800b 3D TV
Apple TV
Apple Airport Express
Two iPad 1st gen music servers
B&W 805D'smain channels
B&W CM Center 2 center channel
B&W CM1 rear speakers
BlueSound Node High Res Music Server
Rel T9 Subwoofer
Chord 2Qute DAC
Isotek Sigmas Gii with Premier Power Cables x 6
van den Hul ultimate HDMI
Van Den Hul flat HEAC cable

Cheers

Lol, just two.

Not impossible for sure, exceptional results, I edited the first post, have to re measure the room, the sizes were a guess.

This is the van that it is in, you can see the slide out on the side, that the bedroom, so you can get an idea by looking at the van, the dimensions inside for the HT. The window on the slide out is the back of the room, my head rests on that window, the bed lies east/west inside and the front speakers are wider apart than the size of the slide out on the other side of the van.

Hi guys, I've just Replaced the old Rotel RSP-1570 with a Marantz AV-8801 and also bought a Bluesound Node music server a few moths back.
That Marantz is a beast of a Pre-Amp, massive amount of difference.
And if anyone ever wants a great music Server, Bluesound is a contender.

Thanks guys, the best thing about the AV-8801 being in a space as acoustically bad as a caravan can be, is the inclusion of Audyssey, game changer indeed.

I've just upgraded the Pro-Ject main channel amps to a pair of Rotel RB 1581 mono blocks, and they are beasts of machines.
The Pro-Jects have now replaced the Parasound amp as rear channel amps.
So finally all discrete amplification.
Thanks to Audyssey, all that power can be used inside a small space. Very clean, very very tight.

I've just added the third Rotel RB-1581 mono block to the system, and it's nice to hear after matching amps and matching speakers across the front, how uniform the sound from the front is now, it just sounds like one big speaker lol.

But the funny thing, is after finally having a matching system, the two CM5 mains will soon be replaced with B&W 805's

More to come........

Finally, the system for now is finished.

Added a Rotel 1552MK2 amp for the rears, a chord 2Qute DAC, Rel T9 sub, Isotek Sigmas Gii and Isotek premier power cables, and my all time fav, Bowers&Wilkings 805D's.
Also added a Apple Airport Express so I can use the hub on the 8801.

I hope you like it.

If your planning of buying a Hugo for use in you home system and not as a headphone amp, I can't recommend enough in favor of the 2Qute over the Hugo in this situation, and I've had both.
Great DAC.

Great DAC.
Interesting bud. I have been very curious about the Chord DACs.

I plan to update eventually and their products are on my radar.

What signature would you describe it as?

I like a airy sound with nice treble detail. But I can't handle harsh.

Have you listened to the Aulric Vega? I loved that signature.
