Question about Samsungs BD-P1400 player - Blu-ray Forum

Apparently, this has surfaced on the Circuit City website, and it says it has an Ethernet port. Since 1.1 is not out yet, what is the purpose of having ethernet on this machine?

would this player be able to update to the mandate 1.1 complaince via ethernet?

They haven't announced it yet, it's supposed to be 1.1 compatible, the ethernet port screams it.

just checking. there's speculation that you can't make it 1.1 compatible via ethernet... i beg to differ, but I thought I would check with the home base

1.1 profile need a second video decoder, so if someone buy the 1400, open it and check if it have it!, it's the only way

BTW, the release date is Oct.1, well before the Oct 31 limits...
