Hi all,
I just visited the site and finds so much crap and bias, for example like reading here LINK: http://www.hddvd.com/go.php/now-list...-case/#more-50 I find it odd that they don't have Forums there as well. Well maybe it's better that way.. Anyone here ever had a look at http://www.hddvd.com ? |

Yep, I go there to check out specs and to see if new hardware is coming out and maybe a new HD-DVD player manufacturer. I don't see much reason to read their forums because I'm capable of understanding published technical information and to research on new technologies and don't need to read slant and hype.

Holmes Says:
August 23rd, 2007 at 12:28 pm As I understand it the difference in disc capacity between HD and Blue Ray is acutally not significant because Blue Ray is still using MPEG 2 compression while HD uses a newer and more powerful compression software VC1. as I am not a Audio whiz just a mere blu-ray supporter because of the inevitable end with blu-ray on top, is this true or is this guy just another HD-DVD allstar. |

BD can use VC-1, AVC which is mpeg-4, and mpeg-2. EVERY 1.0 profile player does this. My understanding from videophiles is that mpeg-4 returns a better picture.
It's useless arguing with those people because they print what they hear and not what they research themselves. Go sample specs recent releases on both formats. You'll see a lot of AVC, PCM uncomressed 6 channel audio, and Dolby TrueHD audio for blu-ray. Only VC-1 and a lot of older DTS and Dolby for audio on HD-DVD. Click me for the link to movie codecs, data sizes and bitrates. Last edited by CAB; 08-25-2007 at 04:27 AM. |
