Default PlayStation 2 Revisited

Well, I just finished up Final Fantasy XIII for the 360, and I only need 3 trophies left on the PS3 version, so....

I decided to buy a new PlayStation 2 and replay Final Fantasy X. I also ordered a copy of Final Fantasy XII as I haven't played that one yet. This should keep me busy for at least 6 months or so while I wait for Versus.

All well, I'll try to get as far as I can at least.

I can always play Onimusha: Warlords and/or SSX after I finish Final Fantasy X instead.

Agreed but Final Fantasy X was good and so was Crisis Core on PSP. Dirge of Cerberus was a mixed feeling for me. I got bored of Final Fantasy XII and haven't touched it since the day I bought the collector's edition. Plus there's Final Fantasy XI on PS2 but kind of doubt they're even playable now.

FFXII wasn't bad, just bad for a FF game. It had no story, just a lot of "go to point A", but by the time I got to point A, I forgot why I was going there The combat system is what kept me interested (other than Balthier, Basch, and Gabranth), however, Dragon Age: Origins beats it there..... FFX was a much better game, though still not as good as the peak of FF games.

To Monk360 Other PS2 games to check out: Silent Hill 2, Shadow of the Colossus, Katamari Damacy, Metal Gear Solid 3. All solid games. If you're into FF, then Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 are really solid (I thought they were better than FFX and XII, actually)

Final Fantasy X is the reason I need to get a power brick for my PS2 so I can play it again, not sure when the urge will build up enough for me to send out for one.

I liked XII enough to be my favorite FF of the PS2 library..... X was good as well though (minus the blitz ball )

XIII is the new red headed step child of the FF series.

I love Blitzball, best mini-game of the FFs, except the Golden Saucer in 7, you just have to find the right players and keep at it.

That's 1 thing I hated about XII. I want a good, long story in my games not just ok so all I have to do is go to the final area in the game and beat it right? Having games like FFXII ruins on why I love JRPGs. I want to get to know the characters, what's going on, have some nice story animated cutscenes, and so on. I even enjoy visual novel games even though America hardly ever gets any.

As for good PS2 JRPG games, I say both Ar tonelico games(especially the 2nd one), Mana Khemia, Atelier, and Sakura Wars to name a few.

Thanks for the game suggestions, guys. I definitely need to pick up Kingdom Hearts again (my daughter will LOVE it); may have to give Shadow of the Colossus another go as well. I'd really love to find a new copy of Silent Hill 2 (the best of the series, IMO). Thanks for the JRPG suggestions, Moonphase, I'll have to look into those.
