i dont tend to go for these types of thing, but I find this one rather appealing. The DVD of the film isn't great and I've not upgraded yet, so it's certainly tempting.

USA I like Junk

As long as the a/v is good, I'm sold. I thought we were going to see the squid scene added to this. No mention of it, just deleted scenes. As far as the junk goes, I like having stuff like that. I admit I won't ever do anything with it and it will only sit around, but I have a sickness of liking that kind of stuff. Example, all the stuff that came in the spider-man dvd releases, I love the junk.

i was orignally going to have the big Wizard of Oz set, but changed my mind when all the silent films turned out to be in SD only, as they were my main reason for gong for it.
I really like the DVDs of King Kong and Blade Runner in the metal tins that Warner did. SOmetimes they can put together a nice package, but they understandably don't appeal to everybody, or even hit the mark.
The watch with the Wizard of Oz set was certainly a bizarre choice of 'junk' to add in. A Board Game is much better

I'm a little surprised that Warner didn't go with a "digibook" on this one. I get the appeal of collector sets and all that but I'm hoping there will be a standalone release of The Goonies that coincides with this set....maybe even a store exclusive type thing like some studios have done in the past. IMO a board game does not appeal to the bulk of this films audience.

It looks like it's the same as the UK disc.

I'm so tired of all these collector's sets -- it's fine to release them for those who want them, but release a standalone edition at the same time!
