Default Wizards of Waverly Place Won An Emmy!

The series The Wizards of Waverly Place won an Emmy for being the best kid's program on primetime TV at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards 2009.

A few days ago Selena had a great professional moment in her career when she and her co-stars won Emmys for The Wizards of Waverly Place for being the best and most watched kid's show on TV. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards was held in Los Angeles on the 12th of September at the Nokia Theatre, and many celebrities came to the event. Some of the stars present were Ashley Tisdale who was in charge of presenting some of the winners and congratulated her friend Selena.

In the photo you can see Jake T. Austin, Selena Gomez, Marķa Canals Barrera, Jennifer Stone and David Henrie with their awards. Although this was no doubt an important event, Primetime Emmy Awards 2009 the big award show will be held on the 20th of September; don't miss it!

I'd say it's deserved. Now they just need to put seasons 1, 2, and the WOWP movie on blu-ray. (I can dream! )

It definitely started off as a HP ripoff, no doubt. It's a pretty funny show honestly with some good writing. Selena Gomez carries the show pretty well. I watch it a lot as my daughter LOVES this show. I actually don't mind it. They had a decent little "movie" recently that wasn't too bad either.

She's doing some JC Penney commercial now so maybe her career is starting to take off. Some of these Disney kids get spat back through the grinder never to be seen again and some of them end up catapulting to bigger things.

How the hell did a Disney sitcom won an Emmy!? What's next: Hannah Montana: The Movie for Best Picture at the Golden Globe and Oscars!?

It's actually a good show. A lot of people here would enjoy if they gave it a chance... but I can understand not wanting too.

However, if you ever want a light-hearted comedy.

I love WOWP and am glad for their win. As for it being a Harry Potter rip-off, though the wizard angle was definitely added to coast on the Harry Potter craze, the magic was tacked on at best. It's a sitcom first and foremost that just happens to have magic in it as an afterthought.

With the exception of the horrid "Werewolves vs. Vampires" story arc, this show is constantly firing on all cylinders and the entire cast is fantastic.

Because they'd canceled Hanna Montana.

(Seriously--That's all it was up against, unless you want to count Spongebob and Cartoon Network....How old do you feel now? )
