That is an interesting title for them to release and I am sure the throngs of Anime fans, greater than 3,000, will certainly enjoy the final product.
So long as they are aware of its release and beat out the scalpers that will gobble up the limited run. I found the film interesting and fun but not $30+ enjoyable. Oh well. Will this be a limited run? One problem with a lot of "Anime" is that the titles are often priced too high except for the most fervent fans. :\ Best regards, KvE |

Also, note that this will be "the most comprehensive package for this movie on Blu-ray anywhere in the world" which may also drive those seeking this release even though it is available in other regions. |

Day one purchase for me, very glad they are putting in the effort to make sure the 3D gets put out along with alternative cuts.
I've only seen it in 2D. The animation is quite nice and although the story kind of falls apart around the mid point, the visual eye candy is enough to overcome it. Definitely on the stranger side for TT, seemed more like Shout territory but I'm glad I won't have to import an expensive copy for a comprehensive set, the 3D limited edition is about $80 from CDJapan. I think this could be a quick sellout, anime fans can be just as rabid as horror fans. |

Definitely looks to be a different kind of release than what TT usually does. I'm interested to see how this will be released. Limited like their usual releases or maybe this will end up being their first wide release. Either way I am interested and plan on picking up a copy.

The animation in this is stunning - way up there with Final Fantasy:The Spirits Within, which still holds up incredibly well today. I never saw the original anime but I thoroughly enjoyed this film. The 3D was very well done too. I'm so glad to see this get a proper release, with 3D available for both versions of the film. I tend to not like TT's model, but now and then a title is too good to pass up, and this is one of them for me.
Just watching the Arcadia smash its way through other ships during battle is enough of a reason to purchase this one. Lots of amazing space battles. Will they be providing English audio and Japanese audio with subtitles for both versions of the film in 3D? There's a fanedit out there that combines the International and Japanese extended versions together and provides a choice of Japanese audio with English subs, or English audio, but since the extended Japanese version didn't come with an English track, the extended scenes revert to Japanese with English subtitles, then back to English audio when the extended scenes end. I'm wondering how/if English audio will be handled with the Japanese version by TT. I understand there's quite a difference between the two versions, especially with dialogue. Oh man, I guess this will be my first Twilight Time Blu-Ray. I've been avoiding them because of their high price, but I just have to own this.
This is one of my defining anime from childhood along with Galaxy Express 999. My favorite character growing up. I've not seen this yet because I wanted to wait for Blu-Ray to watch it properly. Now I can with 3D. ![]() But I'm dreading the price already. ![]() Hopefully its not too expensive. How fast do TT's titles get sold out? Do they ever go on sale? Like in Black Friday? I've not been following their titles much because of their high prices. I only know some titles go for ridiculous amounts when they go out of print. |

well that pleases me to no avail - since I bought the HK import and the 3D disc didn't play even though it's region A (yeah - go figure) ... I would assume like the import disc the 6.1 soundmix is going to get retained for Twilight Time's edition.

TT may be doing special packaging for this release. They also mention the price likely being around $39.99, which isn't too bad

TT have been going on sale once a year, usually mid-March, and are discounted by $10. Not all titles go on sale though. Obviously titles that are sold out are not part of it but sometimes titles that are selling briskly or close to being sold out are also not included. Recently released titles are a crap shoot too. Since this is coming out in December, there's a good chance this won't be part of the sale even if it's not sold out. Since it's limited in nature, I find it best to make that a priority over any wide released films, just in case. Even at $40, it's cheaper than importing the 2D/3D edition from Japan by a large margin. If you don't like it, TT releases at least hold their value fairly well if you want to sell it. |

Picked up the Hong Kong release earlier in the year, but I might end up getting this for the extras. Maybe slightly better subtitles, as the HK release had a couple of wonky moments.
Still, I loved the movie, so I'm down for a more comprehensive edition. Hope the Pre-Order goes up soon. |
