Default Article On Digital Restoration of "Bridge" Says "Taxi Driver" is Next!!!!!

on the list to get restored by Sony.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/filmb...al-restoration

...."No one would be able to see Lean's take on the famous Japanese prisoner-of-war camp story again the way the director intended, or many other classic films for that matter (Taxi Driver will be the next for Sony-Columbia's care and attention), were it not for recent developments in digital technology."

Excellent news! I guess Lawrence of Arabia would be after Taxi Driver. If Taxi Driver arrives in 2011, it could mean we won't see LOA until 2012, in time for the 50th anniversary.

I certainly hope Scorsese is involved...would love to see them try to fix the final scene's coloring. I beleive that has always been an issue, hasn't it? Because the MPAA objected to
[Show spoiler]the redness of the blood and they had to alter the coloring to make it look less like a realistic bloodbath
?

Yeah, I would LOVE for whoever is invoved to make that change. It's amazing how quickly times change..the ending of Taxi Driver is virtually tame compared to the stuff in movies now.

Anyway, GREAT knowing this title is in the pipeline.

Yesssssssssssss!

I'm fine with waiting till 2012 with LoA. Seeing as it is a 50th anniversary. Makes sense.
