Thumbs up How do you like the smaller blu-ray cases?

A few may recall an OLD thread I started long before blu-ray even went on sale. Basically asking that blu-ray should be in those trim-line cases to allow twice the storage space. Face it, all that space wasn't needed. Some argued they could not read the narrow spine.

Well they listened and did one better to keep the spine legible. The blu-ray cases are 3/4" shorter, but just as deep. I can fit 4 blu-ray cases in the space of 3 DVD cases. That is a 1/3 increase in space.

(2 DVD cases take the space of one VHS in a trim sleeve.)

I'm looking forward to replacing my collection just for the space. Not to mention how beautiful it will look to have a row of blu

What do you think? Think it is the perfect compromise, or would you have prefered the trim ones?

I Like the Blu packaging. My two DVD cabinets are full and I'm currently working on replacing them with Blu. Be nice to have some extra room, which I will immediately fill with new releases...

Oh, well...guess I still have to buy another cabinet.

The ones I get from the UK are the same thickness as old DVD cases. They're still short and blue, but they are thicker than the packaging for U.S. BDs.

I like the packaging. Its the next gen packaging. Both HD DVD and Blu-ray are the same size. I love how they take up a lot less space and they fit perfectly in my entertainment cabinet.
