Great movie, but god that artwork sucks. I thought they'd go with the poster art, which while nothing special is miles better than this direct-to-video garbage. They couldn't even bother to use the stylized font, they used the most generic font possible for the title and blew up the size. Bleh....

Still, I'll pick this up, it's one of the best of the year, in my top 10 thus far.

Come on Lionsgate! You keep HELL AND HIGH WATER from a 4K UHD release and now WIND RIVER. WTH!!? These great movies deserve to be seen in 4K!! Disappointing indeed.

In a way it kinda is but with a bigger budget and known actors

I should clarify I was attempting to make the point that the generic cover for the video release undercuts the worth of this particular film; a lot of films with similarly uninspired artwork fully deserve people waiting it out till they show up on cable (and even then, when there's absolutely nothing else on) but I feel this movie deserves a wide audience.

If you were making the point that the majority of people will discover this on video and cable being that it's a "small" film, I would agree, but that's unfortunate. Though it will play fine on those formats, the desolate landscapes on the big-screen make a strong impact, and even worked as a visual metaphor for the spiritual desolation of the inhabitants. Renner and Olsen are superb, and the supporting cast, even those with only a scene or two, are likewise excellent. Again, I think the big-screen gives these performances the scale they deserve.
